Meet our Mr. Lewis Morris – Beatriz Esteban-Messina!

“Tell us about yourself. We have precious little information…”
I taught drama, music and art in a private Catholic high school for 33 years. For the last 10 of those I was also the principal. Indeed, an unusual combination of head administrator and arts instructor!
Since my retirement in 2011, I have been living my dream of working full-time in all aspects of theatre. I am presently directing my 65th and 66th plays (‘NIGHT MOTHER for Fearless productions and SEUSSIFED CHRISTMAS CAROL for Studio Players) simultaneously.
How familiar were you with 1776 before joining this cast?
This has been my #1 favorite of the “classic” musicals since I first saw it performed by a very good church group in early 80’s.
How much (or little) do you know about your colony/state?
I grew up in the Bronx (1956-1965) and our social studies curriculum mainly taught about the state of NY and NYC. So, I actually knew quite a bit although I am a bit rusty at this point.
As your colony’s stance on the question of Independency is well known… let us instead pose another, highly divisive question: Pumpkin Spice- Yea or Nay?
I don’t like the flavor nor aroma of anything pumpkin with the exception of pumpkin soup.
